The Path of the Brigands aims to make known, by living it, a strip of Italy where time seems to have stopped.
It is a magnificent trail that starts from the Monte Rufeno nature reserve and arrives as far as Vulci , a route that develops mainly on dirt roads that can be traveled on foot, on horseback and by mountain bike,
In the first part of the trail (Fioravanti trail) you skirt the slopes of Mount Rufeno; after crossing the Paglia valley, you arrive at the village of Proceno and then enter the town of Onano, the town of lentils. In the second section (Ansuini path) from Onano you reach Grotte di Castro descending to the shores of Lake Bolsena in the territory of Gradoli, a land famous for Aleatico wine, oil and the Purgatory bean.
In the third part of the trail (Menichetti and Tiburzi trail), the trail starts from the Lake Mezzano provincial road to the Lamone provincial road passing through Valentano and Latera. In the fourth and final section (Biscarini's path) from the Lamone reserve you arrive at the castle of Vulci. Fascinating is the passage near the ruins of Castro, the Renaissance city that was the capital of the Farnese duchy of the same name and was razed to the ground in 1649 during the war between the Farnese family and Pope Innocent IV.
