Camenae, Carla Cascales

LATERA the art farm

The sculpture by Carla Cascales Alimbau was created to restore harmony to one of Latera's fountains, replacing the current plastic element with a form made of noble stone: marble.

The choice of material and form is deliberate: the stone, sculpted in Pietrasanta, recalls the solidity of the territory, while the elliptical, organic shape evokes a leaf, the flow of water, and the profile of the surrounding mountains. At the center, the crater-like opening directly recalls Latera's volcanic caldera, a geological memory that deeply marks the identity of the landscape.

The work is both functional and symbolic: it allows water to flow with continuity and beauty, while recalling the constant relationship between community and the ecosystem that hosts it. A discreet yet eloquent presence, transforming the fountain into a place of contemplation and dialogue between nature, history, and daily life.
